Nine years ago, I put in a Bruce 5-inch wide Gunstock engineered wood in my bedroom. I purchased enough extra boxes to do the landing. Due to the difficulty level of the landing, I decided to hire an installer. Everything went well to that point. Then, I decided to do the 3 other bedrooms as the sample from Home Depot seemed to match my floor exactly. So, I decided to order just one box to have a better look. The color was the same but the sheen was off. In other words, it didn’t shine as much. Since the wood was meant for the other bedrooms, I figured no one would really notice and I ordered 15 more boxes. Surprise, surprise! The fifteen other boxes didn’t snap together like the original floor did. The planks had to be nailed in. I wasn’t too happy about that as I ended paying more for installation. Also, one of the boxes came in so beat up that I kept it for last. I didn’t even open it and if my installer doesn’t need it, it will go back to HD. Shame on Bruce for shipping such a box. Anyway, while some other reviewer suggested it is plastic, it is in fact wood. It looks good but I must admit that I am concerned about the polyurethane finish or lack thereof. I hope that this floor will stay looking good for as long as Bruce suggests. I rated this product 3 stars and would not recommend this product simply because of the difficulty of installation. Not for this do it yourselfer.

Looks high end and stylish. Color and cut direction variability a nice feature.
Assortment of lengths always good in each box.
Glued tongue and groove went down easily both on cement and wood subfloors. Some unevenness in the cement subfloor was not a problem.
Very little wastage. Variable lengths helped with this and we found that fairly clean cuts could be made with a variable speed jigsaw and with a regular table saw for the lengthwise cuts. A very few boards out of the 900+ square feet we put down were too out of true to use.
Color and finish was quite consistent from box to box, no wastage from that at all.
Reasons for not assigning the "excellent" rating:
Some variability in the milling of tongue and groove, so tends to be a bit "gappier" than regular laminate.
Overall: well worth what we paid for it!

I bought Plano Marshould Solid Hardwood and tried to match...I bought Plano Marshould Solid Hardwood and tried to match the Plano Marsh Engineered HaRd wood with it. You would think that since they both had the same named color (marsh) that it would match. It did not the marsh engineered was much lighter than the solid hardwood. I had to send it back.
