The end result is very beautiful! However, there is a lot of "junky" pieces of wood - split, damaged, lots of putty holes, puttied knots but ugly, ugly black stripes, big very dark brown stripes mixed in with nicer pieces. Some boxes had more nice pieces than other boxes so a bit of hit or miss. We did the master bedroom which is a big room so we ordered 22 boxes. Out of the 22 boxes there is about 3 boxes of unusable wood - ugly, damaged or very short. Not too many warped pieces but some. Takes some artistic ability to place the pieces to mix up the irregularities so that the floor looks OK. I love the beveled edge. I love the duller sheen. There was a mixer of lengths and we did get some nice longer pieces. I love the carmel color. My husband's first hardwood floor project and it came out very successful! I recommend that people order more than a 10% buffer so that they have more good pieces to choose from

Very Nice.This is very nice hardwood flooring. I installed it into my home (living room). I give it 5 stars for a few reasons. First and most importantly is looks. My wife and I love the character of the various colors, grains, and, knots of this solid oak. The micro bevel 3-1/4" width is nice too. 2. Installation. The tongue and groove fittings were very precise. Out of 12 boxes, I had only (1) plank that was slightly narrow on one end, I could not use, that fit wrong. Very consistent parallel installation. 3. The very few top surface blemishes that I encountered were marked with a crayon before it was packaged to alert the installer. 4. Overall finish. So far after 2 weeks of 2 children, 2 adults, 1 dog with nails, I have not noticed any scratches. When it does get scratched , (which it will). I Believe it won't be so noticable because of all the various wood character.
If you like your oak consistent, like Mission furniture, this may not be for you. If you love the character of random oak, I highly recommend. It compliments our Mission oak buffet and dining table wonderfully.

I have 3 schnauzers and No scratches from their toenails. The flooring is holding up very well. I'm sure we made the right move buying Traffic Master.

There's nothing more satisfying than driving that last nail and...There's nothing more satisfying than driving that last nail and knowing you're finished! No follow up staining and coating with polyurethane! DONE!

I purchased at Home Depot and there were several opened boxes at 50% off with tag that said a few...I purchased at Home Depot and there were several opened boxes at 50% off with tag that said a few pieces were missing. I looked through and they were filled with defected boards. I dismissed them and bought 27 boxes of unopened. Every box had a sufficient amount of great boards, but right a the bottom of each were 4 to 6 boards that were completely useless with carpenter bee holes, green wood and sections split in half. Random defects?... no chance. I figure 3 boxes of defects are being returned when I am finished.

Lots of color and characterThis oak flooring is generally well milled, with little waste. It has a great deal of character and color variation, which was what I was looking for. Not as glossy of a finish as some hardwood flooring.

Random length means about 30% will be 6in piecesLoved the color and quality but about 30% of our order of 39 cases has short 6-8in pieces. In fact there have been a few cases that are almost all exclusively these shorter pieces. Our install guy is having a heck of a time figuring out a pattern that works having to use all these short pieces.
