Beautiful and easy
I installed the Hand Sawn oak, which is a darker color. What a huge difference! It really goes in quickly once your floor is prepared. I installed it over concrete and used the Moisturbloc film the Pergo recommends. Here's what I learned as a first timer doing this:
You really want a table saw. It will speed things up tremendously compared to hand saws and a circular saw. You will definitely need to rip a few of the pieces lengthwise, which is easy on table saw but hard with anything else. Also, a reciprocating multitool makes trim cutting super easy and accurate...worth the $150. Buy the installation kit that comes with spacers and a rubber hammering block...I think it was about $15 and I used it extensively. Last must-have is a pair of knee pads.
I installed about a week ago and have enjoyed it ever since. No problems with furniture or my dog scratching it. Very easy to sweep. I keep a spray bottle of ammonia and water around for spot cleaning.
